Oxidative stress is linked with depressive disorders

Scientific research suggests that oxidative stress may be a factor underlying the development of major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Glutathione is the major antioxidant and free radical scavenger in the brain and plays a vital role in mopping up harmful toxins. Without enough glutathione, these toxins accumulate and cause cell damage.

In a study published in the July 2010 issue of the International Journal of Neuropsyhopharmacology researchers found that the levels of systemic glutathione were significantly decreased in all psychiatric conditions and that individuals with these types of mental disorders may be more susceptible to oxidative stress and free radical damage.

Glutathione levels are low in people with depression

Scientific studies have shown that individuals with depression are deficient in glutathione.

Many people who are depressed turn to alcohol or medications for temporary relief, but unfortunately these only further deplete the vital glutathione levels.

In addition, exposure to electromagnetic radiation (such as from the ubiquitous WiFi, cordless and mobile phones) also reduces glutathione and makes the blood brain barrier permeable to neurotoxins (such as mercury).

How to Boost Glutathione Levels

It is known that glutathione levels are depleted in depression, but the great challenge for doctors has been to develop a supplement that could effectively increase our systemic glutathione levels, as it is a fragile molecule that is quickly broken down in the digestive system if taken by mouth. Glutathione must be synthesised within the cellbecause it cannot be transported into cells.

Following two decades of research, this problem was solved with the development of the breakthrough compoundRiboCeine™, which is a unique fusion of the amino acid cysteine with the simple saccharideribose. It effectively delivers the essential precursor nutrients to the cell where they can then be turned into glutathione.

RiboCeine has received extensive scientific validation in published peer-reviewed studies and has been shown to increase intracellular glutathione by over 300%. In fact, RiboCeine is far more effective than any other form of glutathione enhancement and is uniquely found in the supplement Cellgevity

Cellgevity is ideal for supporting brain function, improving mental clarity, improving sleep, increasing energy and for optimising overall health.
